Virus-Host Interactions and Immunopathology Co-occurrence of microbes and host organisms occurs since millions of years and resulted in intimate interactions between both organisms. The majority of such interactions do not cause disease and microbes are controlled by the host. Encounter of pathogenic microorganisms, however, can lead to disease. We are interested in understanding interactions between pathogenic viruses and their hosts on molecular and functional level, focusing on RNA-protein and protein-protein interactions.
