Research
Although great advances in tumour diagnosis and therapy have been made, continued progress requires adaptation to the needs of the individual patient. The genetic variation amongst patients, as well as the unique genetic events accompanying each malignant transformation, must be assessed and used to individualize global diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
The Institute of Pathology focuses on developing these molecular tools for use in tumour diagnosis and therapy response prediction tailored to the individual patient.
Our central aims are
- to improve tumor diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy response
- to advance individualized therapy of cancer patients
