Winter Semester 2024/2025
Time: January 08th - 17th 2025
Place: Klinikum rechts der Isar
Module Number: 0000005005
Registration: TUMonline
Module Description
The TUM project week presents current problems in medical technology and teaches the ability to solve complex technical problems independently. Together with the Chair of Ergonomics (Prof. Bengler) and the Medical Autonomy and Precision Surgery lab (MAPS, Prof. Nasseri), we offer the opportunity to gain experience in interdisciplinary colaboration in this project. During work observation in the operating room, students learn about clinical procedures. In workshops, they are familiarized with the principles of the iterative and human-centered design process in an interdisciplinary environment. In small groups, students develop and evaluate solutions independently and are coached in development strategies by an interdisciplinary team of experts. Extensive material and a practical environment are available for development. Finally, the students present the solutions they have developed, classify them critically and reflect on the development process.
The course is part of the TUM Project Weeks and is funded by the TUM Excellence Strategy.
